Nearly four and a half months after Russell Martin's first press conference as Rangers manager, his replacement the German coach faced reporters at Rangers' stadium for the first time.

The scale of the challenge ahead of him is well known, considering Martin's chaotic and unsuccessful 123-day tenure.

The ex- Sheffield Wednesday manager was accompanied by chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the much-criticized pair of sporting director Kevin Thelwell and chief executive Patrick Stewart.

But what exactly was revealed from the young coach's first public appearance as the club's manager?

Rohl's Main Priority - Victory is Everything

A single message came through loud and clear from the new coach's initial presentation in front of the local press - he understands the necessity to secure victories, and achieve this quickly.

The previous manager Martin managed just 17 matches and four months in charge, so the question arose about what timeframe Rohl believes is realistic to turn around the underperforming team.

Although deftly avoiding a specific response that might create later expectations, Rohl's message was quite clear.

"Hopefully as soon as possible," he stated. "That is crucial.
"In football you have limited opportunity. You can discuss future plans but it's understood it concerns the short-term and that period involves winning games. This is what I demand.
"One thing remains clear - I require all players to understand how we want to perform. I return to my main message: it's winning, entertaining football and unity. If you follow this order, I'm convinced that I will remain for years here."

Expectations are Standard

Martin required security protection to leave the stadium after his final game in charge.

We've seen how toxic environments can turn at sports teams when performances are poor. Protests have almost become a regular part of the matchday atmosphere on each part of Glasgow these days.

As the club's most youthful manager in history, the inquiry was posed about what qualities Rohl believes he possesses that would enable him to handle, never mind excel, in one of the most pressurized roles in UK soccer?

"In my opinion expectations in football is normal," he stated. "One needs to understand that rapidly.
"I believe certain individuals might mention my youth but I'm a decade and a half in this career. I had a great opportunity to be at Bayern Munich and serve as just the assistant manager, but I experienced the reality to be a head coach and the pressure involved.
"You begin winning games and then certain people will say you need to produce entertaining soccer. That's the next phase but that's exactly what I want. I enjoy those expectations and I look forward about the future."

The Sporting Director Defends Striker Acquisition & Appointing Family Member

Kevin Thelwell media conference

There were numerous questions from the media directed at Thelwell.

Much discussion has focused on the appointment of his son as head of recruitment, with supporters skeptical about his credentials for the role.

However, he defended and explained the choice to recruit his son to the club.

"It remains awkward to hear and optically I think we all agreed when we made this step to appoint Robbie that he would be seen negatively," Thelwell stated.
"The reality of the situation is that we want to attract the top players to this club.
"My perspective on his professional path and situation is he didn't need my assistance in soccer.
"He served at Aston Villa as a senior scout, after which he moved to Norwich as scouting chief and then got promoted to player pathways manager.
"Prior to our recruited him, multiple Premier League teams sought to sign him. What we did from the beginning of the process was discuss with Patrick, Andrew and vice-chairman Paraag Marathe about this matter.
"I was highly open and I think Robbie probably experienced a more rigorous process than anybody else who's employed by this football club.
"What I do know is that he'll labor constantly to achieve success for Rangers and I'm looking forward to him demonstrating that he's going to be an excellent staff member for the club."

Thelwell also defended the signing of striker Chermiti, who joined Rangers for a reported initial fee of £8m, after failing to find the net in 24 games for his previous club.

It was Thelwell who brought the Portuguese youth international to Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon - once more for large funds in a fifteen million pound transfer.

The question came if he supports his multi-million pound purchase, who hasn't yet register in seven outings for the club.

"Yes, completely," Thelwell answered. "I think the striker is a player who's possesses huge potential.
"I've never questioned him whatsoever. Again, I believe the manager will help to maximize the potential out of Youssef.
"It's very initial stages for the young player, he remains young talent and of course with inexperienced players they occasionally take time.
"But I'm certain over the course of his time here he's going to prove that he is very, very good footballer."

Stewart Understands Supporters' Disappointment and Hurt

Stewart was also facing firing line, considering the vitriol that has been aimed at him by certain club own supporters.

There was even a sign in the stadium during the last draw with Dundee United inviting him - and the sporting director - to pack his bags before they were packed for them.

Similar to the sporting director, the CEO did not evade the issue.

"I completely appreciate the disappointment and hurt that the supporters are feeling because results recently haven't been good enough and no one is happy with those," he said.
"The pain and disappointment they feel is matched within the leadership.
"Also understand that there has to be a channel for those frustrations and as chief executive, that's me.
"I'm a lightning rod for those and my role as a
