I cannot rely on three full seasons at Manchester United - the United boss

Manchester United head coach

United's manager - pictured getting support following May's continental cup disappointment - says he is pleased by Sir Jim Ratcliffe's extended support but stressed that tomorrow is uncertain in soccer.

The Red Devils' boss the Portuguese coach feels it's significant the investor publicly shared his long-term thoughts - but states nothing is guaranteed about the future in the sport, much less three full years.

During a discussion with The Times recently, the co-owner stated it might require the head coach a three-year period to produce meaningful results at United's home ground.

Emerging in an era when the manager's position has been facing examination after a prolonged run of poor performances, the statements assisted in calming a portion of the current stress.

Yet, discussing prior to the 100th meeting with old rivals the Merseyside club at the famous stadium, Amorim emphasized how tomorrow is difficult to forecast in football.

"It's truly positive to receive that message but he tells me constantly, occasionally through communication following matches - but recognize, I know and Jim knows, that the sport isn't that predictable," he commented.

"The crucial element is the upcoming match. Despite having backers, you cannot control the future in the sport."

CEO the club executive has admitted it has taken far longer for Amorim to acclimate to the top division subsequent to his appointment from Sporting during the winter than anyone imagined.

Manchester United have achieved 10 victories in 34 Premier League matches under the 40-year-old. They still haven't achieved two league games in a row and haven't finished a fixture schedule in the current term better than ninth place.

The concerning numbers are challenging confidence in the head coach among the Red Devils supporters heading into a stretch of fixtures the side has performed poorly in for the past two seasons.

United's boss commented he doesn't sense the doubt inside the club at their training facility and is firm nothing equals the expectation he places on his players - and in some senses, he would choose the co-owner to avoid attempting to create tranquility because he is concerned about the effect it might produce on the team.

"It's not only something people discuss, I feel it each day," he said. "It's certainly beneficial to receive it because it helps our fans to grasp the administration realize it needs some time.

"However simultaneously, I'm not fond of it because it gives a feeling that we own time to solve problems. I don't wish for that sense in our team.

"The stress I place on the team or to myself is significantly greater [versus outside influences]. In the sport, especially in big clubs, you have to show yourself each weekend."
